Terms of Service
Effective date: July 5, 2026 · Last updated: July 5, 2026
These Terms are a contract between you and Menu Analytics, LLC, a Florida limited liability company doing business as Grocery Snitch ("Grocery Snitch," "we," "us"), governing your use of the Grocery Snitch app and grocerysnitch.com (the "Service").
Acceptance. You accept these Terms by tapping "I agree" (or similar) when you create an account, and by using the Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Eligibility (18+)
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By creating an account you represent that you are at least 18. The Service is not available to minors.
2. What the Service is
Grocery Snitch helps you find low local grocery prices using prices that users contribute by photographing receipts and scanning product barcodes, plus tools to track a pantry, save recipes, and build shopping lists. Prices are crowdsourced from other users, not from the stores.
3. ⚠️ Prices are crowdsourced — no guarantee of accuracy
The prices shown are submitted by other users and by you. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or wrong. We do not set prices, are not affiliated with any store, and do not guarantee that any price is correct, that any store will honor a price shown, or that you will save money. Prices shown are not an offer to sell, and any savings figures are estimates. Always verify the current price at the store before purchasing. The Service is provided for informational purposes only.
4. Early access / beta
The Service is currently offered as an early-access (beta) product. Features may change, break, be reset, or be discontinued at any time; availability is limited to our service area (currently the Titusville, Florida region); and data or progress may be modified or removed as we develop the Service. We appreciate — but are not obligated to act on — bug reports and feedback (§6).
5. Your account
You're responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. Provide accurate information. Tell us at jdouglas@grocerysnitch.com if you suspect unauthorized use. You can delete your account anytime in the app (see the Privacy Policy for what that deletes/retains).
6. Your contributions, the license you grant, and feedback
When you submit prices, photos, recipes, notes, or other content ("Contributions"), you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting/sizing), display, and distribute that content to operate and improve the Service — including adding the prices you contribute to our shared database and showing them to other users (without your identity attached, as described in the Privacy Policy). This license continues for contributed price data even after you delete your account, in anonymized form, so the shared data others rely on remains usable.
Feedback. If you send us suggestions, ideas, feature requests, or other feedback, we may use them freely — without restriction, obligation, or compensation to you.
You represent that you have the right to submit your Contributions and that they are accurate and not misleading. You must not submit false, fabricated, or malicious prices, or anyone else's personal information beyond what unavoidably appears on a receipt you yourself submit.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit false, manipulated, or bot-generated prices, or otherwise game contributions, points, or events;
- scrape, bulk-export, resell, or build a competing dataset from the Service;
- upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content, or content that isn't yours to share;
- reverse-engineer, disrupt, overload, or attempt to breach the Service or its security;
- impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.
8. Store names, recipes, and third-party content
- Store names are used only to identify where a price was observed (nominative reference). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any store or brand, and all marks belong to their owners.
- Recipes you import from a web link remain the property of their sources; you're responsible for having the right to save them for your personal use. We respond to valid intellectual-property complaints — see §12.
- The Service may link to or pull data from third parties (product databases, websites you choose to import from); we're not responsible for their content.
9. Points, badges, and events
The Service includes points, badges, streaks, and events. These have no monetary value, are not redeemable for cash or prizes, and are not a sweepstakes or contest. We may change or remove them anytime.
10. Intellectual property
The Service itself — software, design, brand, and the compiled database — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT (INCLUDING PRICES) ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that prices are accurate or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
12. Intellectual-property complaints (DMCA)
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, contact our designated agent at jdouglas@grocerysnitch.com with the information required by the DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)).
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON A PRICE OR OTHER CONTENT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US $50) OR (B) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE (the Service is currently free). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; these apply to the maximum extent the law permits.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your Contributions, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or others' rights.
15. Governing law; dispute resolution; arbitration
Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights, including your right to sue in court and to a jury trial.
- Governing law. These Terms and any dispute arising out of them or the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
- Talk to us first. Before filing any claim, you agree to email jdouglas@grocerysnitch.com a written description of the dispute and give us 60 days to try to resolve it informally.
- Binding individual arbitration. Any dispute not resolved informally will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, on an individual basis only. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
- Small-claims carve-out. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court.
- Class-action and jury waiver. Claims may be brought only in your individual capacity — not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated, or representative proceeding — and both parties waive trial by jury.
- 30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing jdouglas@grocerysnitch.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, stating your name, account email, and that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect the rest of these Terms.
- Court disputes. For disputes not subject to arbitration, exclusive venue is the state or federal courts located in Brevard County, Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
- Severability. If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) proceeds in court, and the rest of this section remains in effect.
16. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service. You may stop using the Service and delete your account anytime. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. the license to contributed data, feedback, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution) survive termination.
17. Changes
We may update these Terms; we'll update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice (such as an in-app notice or email). Continued use after changes means you accept them.
